trip computer keeps resetting

Hi I have a Renault Scenic (2000) with a trip computer fault. The trip computer seems to work fine BUT as soon as the engine is switched off all of the information is reset (eg mpg etc etc). If I switch off the engine and restart before the red imobiliser light starts to flash (thats within about 10 seconds) then the information in the trip computer is not lost!. In addition, over the past couple of months there have been a few occasions when the air bag light has stayed on (and the service light) but this has been intermittent and switching on and off has corrected the problem (someone said that this may be due to a faulty connection under the seat to the air bag?). Has anyone any ideas?

the connector under the seat is for the seatbelt pretensioner (part of the airbag circuit) and it's a common problem. As for the trip computer could be no constant earth feed
