sensitive alarm!!

My car alarm, on my Megane C.C., goes off two or three times a night. (Whenever a heavy lorry goes past) I've spoken to the local dealer who suggested spraying WD40 on the bonnet catch as they have a sensor which sometimes got clogged and makes the alarm a bit sensitive. Tried it, didn't work. Their next suggestion is to pay 300 to replace the system. He explained that the alarm system has recently been changed as they were found to be over sensitive when the roof was down?? Any suggestions??

Hello, I have a 2004 Scenic, and found that when the alarm was armed it emitted a high pitched buzzing. It turned out to be the bonnet switch, and fitting a small self adhesive felt pad to the bonnet, this pushed the switch down a bit more and stopped the buzzing. It seems that the buzzing is to warn you of this ??
Hope this helps, regards Damian.
