Hi, I have exactly the same problem with my scenic 1.9 dci dynamique (04) can anyone give me detailed instructions how to repair/ access the heater blower to get to the resistor matrix. I have tried accessing the links supplied by some of the other posts but the link just takes me to the forum homepage? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Scenic heater fan not working

I've got a 2004 Scenic 1.4 where the interior heater fan did not work on setting no. 2. Turned out to be a problem with the electrical connector block to the heater fan resisitor pack. A section of the connector block had burnt out and hence was not making a connection. To get at the connector is a real hassle as you have to take the whole of the dash out to get at it. See my pictures of the burnt out connector block & what you have to dismantle to get at it. I did manage to repair it my making a local repair and now it's all working again.

Hi Guys,
I too have had this problem on my 54 1.6 Scenic. It has happened 3 times sofar (just noticed 3rd time today), and the first 2 were under warrenty. My car is now 6 months out of warranty, and I am very dubious to pay any money to Renault to fix it. I also am very dubious to try and fix it myself!!!
Would this kind of thing be able to be fixed by a local garage?, and would there be any expensive parts that need buying?

thanks all

hey guys. the resistors are pretty cheap. mst of the cost is labour because the dash needs to be removed to replace it. but there is a way round it if you do it yourself. remove the glove box and the the gear knob console. and lift the radio surround up. remove the cowling around the instrument panel. you will need thin arms for this and reach in the hole to the right of the panel and feel for a connector. unplug connector then feel to the left of it for a t20 screw. remove this and pull out the resistor. then go back to the glove box side and look for the connector with a black and a red wire coming from it. unplug and cut of connector. pull the resistor out through the hole next to the panel. fit new resistor but root the wires along the front of the instrument panel at the bottom and through the hole at the end then plug in. also replace the connector and terminal that go into the resistor if they are burnt, then try to see if this works before refitting all parts glovebox etc

hope this helps all you guys

Resitors are not cheap, 100 including new loom connector, see also http://www.renaultforums.co.uk/showt...095#post341095 which gives you a cheap way to do it.
