Hi,

Having an issue with my Clio Phase II

Car opens with central locking fob, but car just turns over without starting.

Immobiliser(?) light on top middle of dashlights is flashing.

Occasionally car will start, but not often

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi All I have some of the answer to the immobiliser of death, that the Clio is prone too. 1st! identify that its not the key, re-solder all the components if you can solder, check the battery is engaging, the key is designed that when you squeeze it the battery engages, I have to give my key a gentle squeeze until the light goes out. its easy turn it to the 1st position, squeeze turn fully on watch light go out the start car. 2nd! if the 1st step doesn't work, under the bonnet is a fuse box, in the fuse box is a connector with a yellow cable-a fat red and black-thin green +white wire, breaking this connector and counting to ten with the ignition on resets the immobiliser unit, if your key is good the car should start, if not cut the green wire and the white wire and remake them in new crimp connectors, reset the immobiliser and the car should start, if not check the plastic ring around the ignition barrel is good, as the receiver circuit and aerial wire is in that unit.
