Possible electronic fault

I have a 1999 scenic 1.9dti alize and sometimes the glow plug light comes on while driving which i am told indicates an electrical fault, the revs stay at 2000rpm and the car will not turn off with the key. The only way to stop it is to stall it. When you restart all is fine once more until it happens again.
Anyone out there got any advice, it would be appreciated

I had this problem with my Laguna II. At the time I didn;t know you could stall it to stop it, it just kept going until it ran out of oil . It's to do with the Turbo /Intercooler, something about it running on Oil rather than air i think the engineer said. Anyway, it basically blew the Turbo , Intercooler and melted all the pipes in between. Don't drive it any more, get it repaired or it will end up in the motor graveyard like mine!!!
