Well actually, they're not bad - at least you get a standard ISO connection and a standard sized hole in the dash, more than can be said for many of the Laguna 1's contemporaries, some of which required adapters both for the normal stereo wiring and a facia adapter... It's just confusing that, at least with the pre-04/97 cars, there are so many different possible connectors for the remote controls.
