self-dimming exterior mirrors??

I have just aquired a 2003 '53' laguna initiale 1.9dCi hatch, and i was expecting it to have self-dimming exterior mirrors as well as the interior one.

The interior mirror works as expected, but it appears not to dim on the exterior ones.
I was wondering whether it should have them. If so, are there any connecting wires that could be at fault or things to check?

Thanks in advance, Sean

My 2005 doesn't seem to have them either. Presumably it's something that they de-specced at some point, as I distinctly remember it being in the original brochure.

My 2002 Initiale does have them.

If the mirrors have been replaced at some stage the wrong type may have been fitted.

You would need to remove the mirror to check if it has the facility. If you do, be very careful as there is more than one fixing method used.

Some seem to be a push fit and just need to be prised off. Others (like mine) have a plastic locking ring that needs to be rotated.
