Question outside temperature display

outside temperature displaying 36 degrees (i wish). Removed mirror cover to get to sensor but was unable to remove. Hoping someone might be able to help, can it be removed and replaced easily enough? or is there a way of disconnecting the outside temp display altogether?

Hi there VROOM, don't know if you are still with us, but in my Renault Clio I did a nice post about wiring a temperature sensor into my mirror as I didn't have one originally.

Auxilary Display Temperature?

If you want to get rid of the display you should just be able to cut the wire and it should disappear (that or stick at -40 !!)

In my opinion, I'd get yourself down to a scrapyard and go and pick up a new nipple - Should rectify the problem with the temperature reading! That way you can have a look too how the mirrors come out, I managed to smash mine on the first go!

If my memory serves correctly they are a push on clip, which holds quite firm, and like you, I had to take the back of the mirror off and push the mirror off with a screwdriver from behind (Carefully!!!)
