1995 1.2 L immobiliser Probs...I think!

Hello people

I used my car last night, popped in to some ones house, came out and touched my Immobiliser fob onto the connection as usual, the little red light went out.... but when I turned they key....nothing! not a single sound.

The dials on the petrol etc and the radio came on, but nothing from the engine. then after a few seconds i hear a noise which I have always assumed is the immobiliser resetting its self (beeping sound) then a few more seconds and the little red light comes back on!

this happened once before and after 5 or so attempts it started. but last night it would not. I walked away for 30 mins and tried again....nothing!

any one got any ideas? Also, how easy/cheap is it to have the immobiliser removed? does it need to go to a Renault specialist to do it?

Any info much appreciated.

To unpick the immobiliser all you need to do is trace the wires from the immobiliser control unit back to where they have been spliced into the wiring loom. Simply disconnect them and remake the loom back to its original form.
You might find that you have a bad connection to the starter motor solenoid connection. This is the thinner of the two wires going to the starter motor. It should have a female spade connector on it. Give it a wiggle and see what happens.
