Headunit/ipod/steering wheel control/dashboard display - Help!!!

I am wanting to replace the stereo headunit in my Scenic II, and wanting to have one which has integrated ipod connection.. but also works with my steering wheel controls AND the dashboard display.. (yes i am greedy! )
Can anyone help with options i might have.. So far i have figured out that Pioneer do various bits and bobs to make it all work (but quite expensive), keen to find out if anyone else has made it all work!

All help very much appreciated..

I have done that in my laguna but i have a tunner list head unit with cd changer control which is where the ipod is pluged into. It does work very well.

I don't know what scenic you have, but in looking for a stereo, try and find one which has sub-LCD output and you should be OK. A lot of Pioneer models have, to my knowledge, no Kenwoods do. I don't know about other manufacturers, you'd have to enquire.

As for the harness to interface the stereo up to the car, a company called Autoleads make a series of adapters that come in two parts, one is "PC99-Xxx" (mine was PC99-X01 for non-display Lagunas), which is the vehicle interface side, and supports LCDs in those cars that have them in addition to the steering wheel controls, and the other part is "PC99-xxx" (mine was PC99-KEN, for a Kenwood stereo) - these two parts together create a rat's nest of cabling to push back into the dashboard and hopefully make your stereo controls (and LCD) work

Other companies do it, but this was just my experience of trying to work the mess out!
