just to speed it up more, what type of bulbs are needed as replacements? This will save driving to halfords with a semi-dismantled dashboard!

Once you have taken the dashboard off, it is easy enough to replace, just clip it back on & leave the screws out until you have replaced the bulbs. Take the bulb to any car spares and they will match it up. When I replaced mine, I thought that the bulb was fixed into a plastic holder until the gent in the shop took it out for me!!
If I can change a bulb, anyone can!!!

This thread has emboldened me to sort out the clock on mine - had previously thought it was a 'proper' dashboard off problem. It really is a piece of p*ss.

I'd suggest driving to Halfords, buying a 1.99 bulb for the clock, and paying a further 2.99 for free fitting. It'd be worth it just to see the looks on their faces
