Unfortunately it is becoming more and more common on many makes and models.
tells the plugs when to spark based on the information it is given.Even if all the info it recieves is right sometimes a fault with it can cause allsorts of strange problems.I had a very similar thing on an Astra G the other day......

It might be worth seeing if a company local to you can repair the
,or you could contact BBA Reman(do a internet search for their excellent site) and they may be able to provide a warrantied exchange unit or repair your
by return postage.
