electrical problems / strange noises??

hi everyone

my clio 1.5 dci (2003 with 48k on clock) has had a few probs lately, wondering if they could be related...

1) the electrics been playing up - rear foglight flashing on dash when brakes applied and indicating. comes and goes. radio dispay fading but coming back with a quick thump...etc

2) the two front headlights went at the same time, replaced bulbs and they worked, altho old bulbs didnt actually look blown...but the new ones appear to have worked fine since

3) when i turn steering wheel i have noticed that the headlights fade slightly

4) the last wee while there has been a strange vibrating noise happening when the engine started from cold, goes once engine warmed up... also appears to less of a noise when i turn steering wheel to full lock. only really heard inside car, not from inside engine..

have seen posts with people with similar problems, but not all together...or not with a solution...

gona check the earthing on rear light cluster at weekend for light problems...

other people have mentioned auxillary belt, alternator, worn bearings in alternator...

i'll prob have to take to garage, but wanted to just check with you's whaat you thought? dont know if to tell garage all above...they always look at me like the daft female!

any suggestions would be great... thanks!

I have all these problems...not together but one after the other hun!
Don't worry about the garages they all think im a daft female too!
The headlight one was simply the bulb was going and for some reason rather than just blowing just cut out...? No solution other than new bulbs!
Back brake lights - my fog light used to flash on verytime i braked which was more noticeable when i was braking downhill...took the lights out and used special sand paper from my garage to make a better connection...this worked!
The lights fading when you turn has not happened to me more than a couple of times but i haven't done anything as my lights dim when i put windows down etc...i simply (Due to an ICE install) got a new battery and this problem stopped.

When i start my car up from cold it feels like it is a lumpy bag of crap but i hav been advised all clios are like that until thy warm up...idle is not smooth even when warm.
Dont know if any of that will help :/

hi QueenB

hehe glad its not just me at the garages, when the bulbs went i couldnt get the wee sods undone so i phoned the renault garage to see if there was a secret method and the boy just said it was a very difficult job and i would need to bring it in...at 20 to change bulbs plus the cost of the new bulbs!! needless to say, i persisted, and eventually did it myself (with the aid of my brother!)

the engine noise is something strange though, its different to the usual engine warming up noise, with my car being diesel i am used to it being a bit rumbly but i think this noise is something new...

thanks for your reply though
