Beam switch for France

Am taking the Modus to France in September and I have been making enquiries, or trying to, to find out either how to change the direction of the headlight beams, to comply with the rules for France. Is it .. 1) Altered by tinkering with the light unit itself ..2) Can you get the black cut out and stick on patches..or 3) Is there any other way of doing it.

Normally wouldnt be too concerned but apparantly the French Police have been taking lessons from their Brit colleagues and now see little things like this as a bloody good fund raiser (dont use the car after dark there at all)

But hey Ho..any advice appreciated. Did ask the dealer but they didnt know suggested using bits of black tape, but cant see where they would go on the lens cover on the Modus. Anyway many thanks folks

You can buy universal stick on beam benders from your local auto DIY store. They will have instructions on where to place them for your model car

Halfords do a beam bender kit, which you stick on to the headlight lens...there are those who would advocate not bothering to do this, but for the sake of a fiver I think it is money well spent and have used them everytime that I have driven through France and Spain.

I'm taking the A'time to French France in August - I have bought a bender from Renault. Are there any guidelines to where to place them. All the Renault dealers do is shuffle their feet and say how rare the car is!!!

I took the Movano over back in October and conferss i didn't alter the headlights at all. Drove pretty much in the darkness while I was there.

I got flashed at. A lot
