Can't Open Boot

2003 Laguna Initiale IDE 2.0 Petrol Manual 40k miles.

This morning when unlocking the car the other half tried opening the boot at the same time. Now I cannot open the boot.

It is firmly locked and when you press the button to try and unlock it, it makes the same "soft/light" clunk that it usually makes if you press the button when the boot is already open.

I think that the boot thinks it's already unlocked!

I have tried locking/unlocking the car multiple times - with and without pressing the boot at the same time but it's still locked firmly! I even tried bouncing it up one of the most pot-holed roads around to see fi it jolted it back to life but nothing.

Is there anything I can do to "reset" it and get access or is it off to the garage.
Currently in KeyRenRF3's garage:
