The regulator is the name given to the window motor and its assocaited control unit. These are integrated (motor & control together) in the Laguna II.

The term 'one touch' describes a window with the ability to open or close with one touch of the button.
The term 'anti-pinch' indicates a feature of a 'one touch' window where it stops closing if it detects an obstruction.

There are three types of window regulator fitted to the Laguna.

1) A simple electric window (without one touch or anti-pinch)
2) A 'one touch' window with 'anti-pinch'
3) A 'one touch' window with 'anti-pinch' and multiplex connection.

This last version is only used for the front windows of cars where drivers seat position memory is fitted. This is because the window regulator is used to store and control the position of the rear view mirrors (These adjust automatically based on which card is placed in the slot).

Typical configurations would be ...

1) 'one touch' in drivers door and 'simple' in all others.
2) 'one touch' in front doors and 'simple' in rear.
3) 'one touch' in all doors.
4) 'one touch with mux' on front and 'one touch' in rear.

Things to note are...

All 'one touch' regulators have 'anti-pinch' functions.
All 'one touch' regulators can auto close the windows on locking (although this may not be enabled by the UCH ).

The 'one touch' controller must be initailised (after power loss). This is done by lowering the window fully and keeping the switch pressed for 5 seconds. Then raising the window fully and keeping the switch pulled for 5 seconds.
If the 'one touch function still does not operate then you either have a faulty regulator or the 'anti-pinch' is operating (due to excessive friction).
