The 'Mrs' managed to insert her card far enough to start the engine but not far enough to fully engage the lock. She then removed the card with the engine running and wondered why the car wouldn't lock when she got out.

If I remember the steering lock only engaged when the engine stopped.

How did the Megane stop you leaving the car with the engine running?

You couldn't lock it with the engine running but you could walk away and leave it all day A few people ot the meganeowners forum have reported doing just that
