Electrically Heated Windscreen

In the handbook for my 2004 Laguna (& my wife's Scenic)reference is made to the electrically heated windscreen.(depending on equipment level where fitted)

Does anyone know if it is possible to retro fit to a Renault as I only know of the Ford range in the UK to offer this

Even if you could, according to another forum member, it would cost you mega bucks to purchase a heated windshield to put in place of your normal one

Apart from the cost of the windscreen - there would the cost of fitting a different climate control panel. That's assuming the relevant wiring and relays are present.

They are great devices, but what I'd suggest is to use the aircon/climate more often to prevent the windscreen misting up, and when the frosty mornings return, placing a hot water bottle on the dahboard (but not touching the windscreen) around 10 mins before you set off. It'll save you wasting time/fuel waiting on the engine warming the coolant.

(just a thought - imagine this topic surfacing in summer)

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
