Battery replacement

I've got the feeling that my 6 year old 1,9 Dci diesel's battery is giving up the ghost. Any problems/idiosyncracies with the replacement? After doing my Mondeo's I had to spend about 20 minutes running engine at various revs whilst the ECU reprogrammed itself!

I want to do it myself because son is in the business and can get me one at trade price!

Any recommendations on battery make?

Thanks in advance.

Hi FC,

Radio code and some say to leave the sidelights switched on to prevent a spike affecting the cars electronics.

I would agree with Ottoman. Buy the best quality battery you can afford. Diesels need all the help they can get especially in the winter. A poor battery is also tough on a starter motor.
I have had the battery out of my Lag II 1.9Dci and the only problem I had was loosing the radio code
