radio ,wiring problem

hello, i have just sorted out the wiring in my scenic, 1989 rxe, i took the philips out, and put a sony MP3 unit in, ive done quite a few car radio installations, but renault do things diferently it seems, there are quite a few wires in the loom ,there for the sat nav etc, i have wired it up Yellow to Red /Blue trace, and Red to Yellow/ black trace, this now turns on off with key,if you have a circuit tester, with a sharp probe, you can confirm, by turning key off and trace the wire still live, turn key on, and yellow will power up, red/blue permanent live,so its red with blue trace to the yellow wire on head unit, for memory, and yellow with black trace to red on the head unit, make sure u have the black eartyh wires connected first. note thi is on my 1989 scnic, yours may be diferent.

If you have no switched live, why not take a supply from the cigarette lighter? Most cars have the cd player fused with this anyway? I have done this myself in a couple of cars and it has worked fine
