Puddle lights on driver and nearside passenger door have minds of their own, they decide when they would like to work. Plus the car seems to be producing odd little electrical gliches, but not all the time. The model is 2.2 Initial 52 plate.

It has driven all over europe as far as Rome, also had Clio which went to Sicily and back no problems.

The puddle lights are fed via the wiring harness and the door hinge side of each door. It could be water ingress causing a short to earth. This would cause voltage variations in the electrical system. It may be worth checking the drain holes at the bottom of both doors aren't blocked. It is also not unusual for a duff bulb or bulb holder to have a similar affect
