Scenic Starter Motor Location Help

Can anyone tell me the location of the starter motor on the scenic 98 plate as looked most of day with no luck reason i ask is when i turn key all lights come on and its dead and it only cranks every so often also its been stood a year so i suspect its stuck any help appreciated thanks

Have you checked the battery charge ? I'd suspect a duff battery if its been standing for that long. The battery may have enough charge for lights etc, but not to fire the engine.

no not the battery fully charged and giving enough power out

OK - with the car in 1st gear rock the car backwards and forwards a bit a few times. Then try......

Done this many a times when my mate stripped the teeth off his starter motor !

worth a try....

But the starter (if its an 8v engine) should be on the left hand side (cambelt end) below the alternator.

tbh not sure whicj engine it is yet 1.6e thats all only got it yesterday
