Hi guys! Sorry I'm new in here and this may have been ask many times but I'm struggling to find it' I need to replace my reverse switch on my scenic phase 2 1.9 dci and there are so many types of switch and locations, any help appreciated !! I think I need the two pin type (blue) which is situated on the top of the box but there is another that sits under the selector which is black ! And this has confused me ***128529;
The car works yes this only happened yesterday , check parking brake appears now and asks for neutral to be selected before starting , after looking everywhere I've narrowed it done to this
Yes the car runs fine it's just happened' check parking brake has appeared and select neutral comes up even when it is in neutral so I've narrowed it down to replacing this after reading all over
Has yours got a switch on the top, and a switch below the clutch selector cables.
Over the back of the gearbox, virtually level with the nearside drive shaft.
or just one switch....
Can you start the car with just your clutch depressed, or are you having to use neutral and brake pedal
Yes I've got one on top of gearbox and one pretty much underneath the gear selector on the box, there isn't one by the driveshaft and I'm having to start the car with foot on clutch, which I do anyway but if I put foot in brake the car will ask neutral, I've checked the switches by the pedals and there ok, this has happened right after towing my caravan ? Tho I can't see why that would blow the reverse or neutral switch? I have no reverse lights when in reverse gear of that helps also , thanks
Engine bay fuse box, ,,, Disconnect the battery...and remove it...(DONT make the mistake of bending the connector, that the large power lead from the battery fastens to the fusebox).
Undo the pin holding the power lead and the fuse box in place, lift the fuse box out,being careful how you manoeuvre it.
If you dont go careful, there is a very good chance you will disturb one of the multiplugs, and give yourself another issue..
You will see 2 fuses on their own , the red fuse, check this has not blown..
If blown get the electrics checked on your towbar, and caravan
Would check the fuse first, if it blows again, once fitted and put in reverse, check the bulbs,
But if when fitted, no issues, get the caravan checked BEFORE you use it.
Can truthfully say, getting a telephone call at half past 4 in the morning to be told, " Not going away , connected car to the caravan ready to go, both gone up in smoke ".
Is a scary call.. Fortunate enough, no one was inside the caravan asleep
