Ideallly you will need to remove the sensor and get it dried out. The sensor is usually located in the pod beside the interior drivers mirror and it clip out.

Do not use masking tape as it ain't waterproof

See the link below using black duct tape to seal the exterior edge of the sunroof

ATTENTION clio mk 2 sunroof fix :)

I wasn't advising to use masking tape to seal the sunroof, that was to stop the mess from the sealant messing up the roof of the car. I will take some phots of how I did mine sometime.

EDIT: Although that tape idea doesn't look as bad as duct tape on a car could do...
