No it will not fail the MOT as Airbags are not tested..
The under seat connector will be open circuit..
If you look under each front seat you will see a grey connector with a blue and brown wire.. With the ignition off, pull the plug out from the connector then reinsert it.. This may solve the problem..
If the light still comes on then you can cut the connector out completely and solder the Blue and brown wires together.. ie blue to blue / brown to brown. This is the official Renault fix for this issue.
