Phase 3 headlamp removal (96/97 model)

Has anyone successfully replaced a headlamp unit on Ph3 clio ('96 -97 model) without having to remove the bonnet and front bumper as The haynes manual says, if so how easy was it?.

i had to change mine when the glass fell out as i was dirfting round a round about (by accident may i add) :D. I just unscrewed the i think 3 bolts on top of the light in the engine bay then the philip screw thats on the bumper between the light and the hinge for the bonnet and then just wriggle it out hope that helps ya
