Yep tried disconnecting the battery and it does clear for a short while, then returns, I think I'll have to fork out for Renault to plug it in and see what is amiss. Anyway I seem to have a clicking on the steering now when turning whilst stationary, so it'll need to go in for that doing too.

suprise suprise, my scenic's had a steering rack and new steering lock aswel, mine was under warranty so have no idea how much, sorry. However, try the yellow pages and find an independent renault specialist or auto electrician. A diagnostic at my renfault stealership is 78 quid, but my local auto electrician does it for 40! so a substancial saving!!

Sadly Renault have been cunning enough to ensure generic diagnostic readers can't interact with all aspects of their cars. It's a real money spinner for them
