Hi
I've read existing threads on this forum and elsewhere about the "check parking brake" message on my 2005 Scenic 2, which I cannot remove. I left my lights on a few weeks ago and my battery went almost flat. Got a jump start and the message appeared, along with the "service" and triangular P on the dash. The handbrake has always and continues to work as expected, the car is an auto Privilege model. I had a service yesterday so as my Gendan code reader cannot reset this message I asked them to reset it for me. They are telling me they did but it immediately came back, even though the car flew it's MOT and the handbrake was working. I think this is just to do with my flat battery. Can anyone tell me if I am right or wrong? The battery has been perfect since the incident.
Thanks

Possible through the battery...
But with it coming back on straight away the system is not happy about something... Now asking this question as a genuine question and not having a dig ..... Are you sure your garage was able to access the control module to clear the fault,,,, That is for you to answer in your own mind... Before you start trying to find a fault that is non existent
Did they give you the fault code that came back .....

Dont know if these will help, but there is also the
There is a post on here showing the wires, and how they corrode through...
Put loads of different terms into the search bar. I found these with Scenic epb

Thanks for coming back so quickly. I would HOPE that a competent garage would find the port.... I did it ok. The garage made no attempt to read the code. As my code reader is only for engine faults I was simply taking the opportunity of it being in the garage so that they could reset the code and if it came back I would then investigate. The handbrake works perfectly so I was prepared to take the gamble.

been there done it - bought my 2nd G Scenic because of parking brake message up due to halfords changing battery and causing error....the reset by using dash switch will not clear the error message - you need a decent code reader to remove message I used icarsoft907 it took a couple of goes and a few re-sync's using dash switch all was good for 6 months until EPB motor totally failed.
