Faulty clocks/ instrument panel

Hi, my 1999 Kangoo has a fault that when i start the van the display is blank and the fuel, temp and speedo gauges are dead and will not move. the time and mileage display are blank, also the backlit display does not work. All i seem to get is a glowing low fuel indicator. When i turn the van off the low fuel indicator still stays alight even when the key is removed.

I have found if I warm the van up by driving for 10 minutes and then disconnect and then reconnect the battery everything will work fine until the van cools down.

I'm guessing the clocks are knackered and will need replacing?

The dash panel is very temperamental to voltage changes - so it may be worth checking out all the connections to the battery first and inspecting the fuses for signs of corrosion. Also I suggest you get the battery load tested and the alternator output checked. Most battery suppliers will do a free check in the hope of a sale. Whilst it could be a display problem checking these aspects would be relatively cheap
