Question Electrical Problems

Hi ...I'm still suffering with the lights on my Laguna 2. I checked all the ground points. and started from the back removed all the bulbs, replacing one by one and testing. What I found was the Lt Park & stop filament on the outer piece of the assembly lights very bright, m the Rt side only the park filament lights. This is when i switch on the park light switch... When i installed the Lt indicator bulb and tested the park & Stop bulb filament lights, but dimmer than the Lt. ... When i turn on the Main Beam the FRONT Rt Head lamp OK the Lt is dim, so to is the park lamp. When i turn on the Hi Beam the Rt side remains OK ...ALL the Lt side light goes out.

What else can I do... I cannot carry the car for inspection until i have this fixed..

Re: Electrical Problems

Go back to the rear of the car,,, check you have correct bulbs fitted..
Twin element bulbs, where the pins of the bayonet that hold it in ,..some are at 180 degrees , some are at 210 degrees..
Look closely at the bulb holder, are these correct the correct bulbs fitted.. if yes.
Is the bulb in the right way round, the bayonet pins one is lower down than the other, if yes
The two connectors inside the bulb holder, are they touching each other...
Take the bulbs out of the front of the car, until you get the back working first...
Has your car got a towbar fitted,,?????

I remember the first time I saw a universal remote control, and I thought to myself.

Thanks >> I know I checked this before, but I'll double check again.. cause I remember switching around those bulbs.
And I'll try disconnecting the front also.

Re: Electrical Problems

Thanks ours2012.....

I did what you said. Heres what happened.
1) Disconnected Head lights and Indicator Lights Front
2)Put on Ignition
3)With Park light switch ON.... Single filament lights on either side OK.. (Monitoring the lamps mounted on the trunk lid)
4)Depressed Brake Pedal. ... Lt Brake filament comes on OK......... Rt Park filament goes OUT...
5)Put ON Rt Indicator....... Indicator Bulb flashes very dimly..... Park & Break filament flickers alternately.
6)Put ON Lt Indicator.... Everything is Normal... The lamp flashes normal.
7)When I remove the Park/break Rt bulb and put ON the Rt Indicator the Indicator bulb DOES NOT light..

Exhausted...... HELPPPPPPPP... What can I do again

Re: Electrical Problems

could you post a picture of the back of your car,,
Bit confused, thought side(tail) lights were on the car not the lid...

I remember the first time I saw a universal remote control, and I thought to myself.
