xenon bulbs help

last night i had a bulb go so this morning i got a new bulb 70.00 ouch and fitted it turned on the lights and the new bulb turned on slowly so finished the job closed bonnet and tried the lights one more time but it did not work all connections seem to be good
any help would be appreciated

The fact that it "turned on slowly" would make me think the bulb was dodgy, although I don't know much about xenons.

Would it be worth trying the same bulb in the other side

Currently in scatz's garage:
2004 Subaru Legacy GT Spec B, a 2013 2.0 TDCi Titanium X Sport S-Max and a 2001 Honda NSR125R

Try the working bulb from the other side and if the problem still exists I would suspect the ballast unit is duff or water logged. Also remembr a duff ballast can wreck a perfectly good bulb so don't let it run too long if you can help it
