sorry that does not work for the fog light. i belive that you have to have the sensor signal wire and the fog ligth wire and earth linked together . this is what i am after. you do not get voltage on any wire unless this is wired up correctly. but thanks

If the fog light is in the boot lid, then you'll need to find the multi-plug that carries the appropriate wires. On the Laguna, it's a blue plug that's hidden behind the left hand boot trim. The Scenic may be the same... or maybe not.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'sensor.' The conventional way to cut out the rear fogs is to have an 8th wire in the 12N plug, which returns the fog light feed for the car. With no plug fitted, the fog light power passes down to the socket, through this extra contact, and back up to the car's fog lights. Fitting the plug breaks this connection and disconnects the car's lights.

The reasons for disconnecting the lights are twofold: Firstly, there's the glare issue. Secondly, some cars react badly to driving twice as many lamps as they're supposed to. I've never heard of problems on Renaults, but some Vauxhalls are notorious for melting switches if you don't bypass the car's rear fogs when towing.
