mpg/fuel light

hi to all,ive got a 02 plate 1.9dci 120 laguna and the problem is my mpg is going up then down and also the fuel warning light comes on when i know there is enough fuel in the tank for it not to show up also the miles left in tank goes up and down as well its doing my head in ,ive read on the forums all manor of excuses for this, a lot say the egr valve may need cleaning if so where is it located and how to clean it or is it possible that my sender unit is a bit duff thanks in advance

Fuel sender unit maybe? Sorry my mechanical knowledge isn't great but I think its accessible by taking the rear seats out to access the fuel tank.

May just be a loose connection or something like that.

I'm sure someone with more mechanical knowledge will provide you with some more answers

I would suspect the sender unit in the fuel tank has a problem and as already said lift out the rear seat and have a hunt for an access plate - check out the connections
