Fitting Parrot Bluetooth

Can anyone help with this problem. I have just bought a Laguna 3 2.0 dCi Dynamique S 150bhp and am attempting to fit my old Parrot v5.25c Bluetooth for my old Laguna Mk 2 1.8 16v. Apart from the epic struggle to get the Radio out everything appeared to be going fine until I tried to find a Switchable 12 volt supply which it needs & which I had tapped from the Cigar Lighter on the Mk 2. Unfortunately it would appear the lighters are no longer switchable and I cannot find a switchable 12v supply anywhere handy. Has anyone any idea where I can find one so I can just Scotchlock it on. There also seems to be some confusion about swapping the Red & Orange wires around for some unknown reason if anyone could throw light on this as well it would be great. I unfortunately don't seem able to get my hands on a Manual for the Mk 3 as none are available at the moment so any advice anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. Dave

Can you not take a power supply off the radio, one is a permanent live one goes off with ignition..
can you explain orange and red, .
Are these the wires of the parrot system, or the radio system

Hi ours2012.
Sorry about the wires issue. They are on the Parrot and as far as I'm aware the Red is for a constant live & the Orange is for switched, quoting the install details which are very basic "The red wire of the power cable must be connected to a constant 12v supply, the orange wire to the ignition 12v (Hence switchable) & black to earth" then goes on to say "On some vehicles the position of the red & orange wires may need to be reversed" but doesn't explain why???????. At the time when I was trying to fit the Parrot my meter was reading ALL the wires (About 6) in the ISO Power Plug appeared to be constant Lives with the plug disconnected from the Radio !!!!!!!!! unless my meter has decided its had enough and giving me duff reading. Hope this is a bit clearer as my original post was fired off after quite a few hours of cut hands and various other injuries & reading it again it is a bit vague. Cheers. Dave

Hi again ours2012,
The Parrot is a CK3000 Evolution which is a bit long in the tooth now but to be honest the best I've ever had and works excellent with all the modern phones. It appears to be Version 5.25c if that's any help. Thanks for taking the time to try and assist me with this it seems quite silly really taking only about 15 mins to fit in my old Mk 2 but it took about 2.5 - 3.00 hours just to get the radio out of the Mk 3.
Thanks once again. Cheers Dave

What radio is fitted, if not sure, post a couple of photos of your connectors that go in the back...Showing the pins of the multi plug,,,
Can you also post a picture of your multiplug coming off the parrot,,

Some radios stay on with a time delay, you need to take your keycard out of the reader and open your door so that the vehicle cuts power to the radio. This will enable you to identify which wire is the switched one.
Alternatively just connect the unit up and without putting the radio in the dash, do the same thing. If your parrot switches off with the radio, you're good to go, if not, switch the two wires and you're done.
My wife has the 3100 in her car and I fitted hers in the same way.

Hi ours2012,
Thanks for your prompt reply once again & my apologies for the late reply having had a couple of really busy days & time disappearing too fast. At this moment in time it is going to be the weekend before I can get round to trying again and I note the further post from Davegayle with the reference to the time delay on the Radio which I had completely overlooked whilst looking for a switched wire. I'll give this a try first and let you know the outcome then I can progress from there. Many thanks once again. Best regards.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for post re the time delay on the radio circuit which I had to be honest, completely forgotten about. There was something at the back of my mind but having spent several hours just getting the radio out(I don't think it had been out since new) I was getting to the really fed up stage. I'll hopefully get chance this weekend to have a go and sort it and post back as soon as poss.
Once again Many Thanks. Best Regards. Dave. Scorpioking

Thanks to ours2012 & Davegayle for all your helpful advice and my apologies for not posting before now. I have resolved the issue with the Parrot Bluetooth thanks to both your assistance. For your information and anyone who has the same sort of problems I can verify that the Factory Fitted Radio in the Mk 3 Laguna is ISO compatible so basically no problems there but in most instances the Red Constant Power Wire and the Orange Switchable Power Wire will have to be exchanged.

The main problem was that
1) There is a time delay as Dave mentioned before the Radio/Accessories switch off but!!!!!!!!!!!!
2) If there is a Factory Fitted Alarm, the Car most likely has a Remote Locking System with its own area around the car which will not let the Car Radio/Bluetooth Device switch off until the Card is out of the Zone. You can off course lock the car with the card but the Zone is still active until the Time Delay as above switches off. I finally sorted it by just locking the car via the card then leaving it for ten minutes after walking well away(Good excuse for a cuppa) before starting the car up and waiting to see if you get the familiar "Chirp" as the Bluetooth Activates.
Hope this is of some use to others out there and once again Thanks to Dave & ours2012 for getting my brain into gear & steering me in the right direction. Best regards. Dave. Scorpioking http://www.renaultforums.co.uk/imag...ltForums_uk_2016/smilies/tango_face_smile.png
