Mk2 Sidelight/Rear Lights & Fuse

Hi all, new here so be gentle..wonder if anyone can help.

Our 03 Megane is as annoying as the rest of them no doubt..... Front side light/rear light are out. Changed the 7.5 fuse the other night but soon blew again. Even put a 10 and then a 20 in there to see what would happen (as I had no spare 7.5's and Halfords were sold out). 20 lasted a bit longer but not much.

had a garage take a look but they shrugged their shoulders, said it was an electrical fault and told me to take it to a electrics specialist. . . . . i think i'd rather drive with a light out thanks....

The fact that the fuse keeps blowing demonstrates there is a fault. Using an over-rated fuse could cause a fire in the wiring or damage to some of the wiring looms - neither of which would be a cheap fix. Have you checked the relevant bulbs or tried replacements - it is not unknown for a bulb to fail and cause a short circuit. It would also be prudent to check if any of the lights have suffered from water leaks - quite a common problem and ensure all contacts are clean and sound.
Additionally I suggest you get it sorted - much better than getting 3 points on your licience or causing an accident.
