Testing coils

Has anyone ever tested the resistance of the primary and secondary windings in the coil packs as demonstrated in the link below. Although the coil shown in the link may be of different design I think the principle should be the same.
If it could ascertained what the resistances of a new coil should be it may lead to a means of testing suspect coils . This could help members identify problem coils
A simple multi-meter and a good coil and a failed coil is all that is required.
If someone has already done this maybe they could point me in the right direction.

See link below for testing procedure

I took the coils out today and checked the restistance with a multimeter.
Looking at the engine, number 1 is on the left.
Coil no.1 was 380 K ohms.
Coil no.2 was 15 K ohms.
Coil no.3 was 9.3 K ohms.
Coil no.4 was 9.3 K ohms.

These were possibly the secondary windings from the link that madnoel has above - from the spark plug end to either of the upper pins in the socket.
So, some discrepancy on number 1 there posibly number 2. Will try to get a replacement tomorrow.
My plugs were badly fouled too, so also to be replaced.

Can anyone else verify the resistance of a pencil coil for comparison?

i think the haynes manual gives the resistance reading for the coils , primary and secondary.
if i remember i'll see what the good old book says

Weather permitting I will be doing some work on mine tomorrow
I have some spare (but almost new) coils so
I will post some readings if I can
