Fitting a stalk adapter for Sony headset

I have successfully changed the original headset in my mk2 Clio ('00) to a Sony CDX-GT420U. Now I am about to attempt to fit an Autoleads Stalk Adapter so that I can continue to use the steering wheel stalk controls. I have bought Autoleads parts PC99-X12 Stalk adapter lead and PC99-SON Sony multistalk adapter patch lead which I am assured will be compatible with my car (I have a dashboard clock display).

I believe that I am going to have to take off part of the dashboard in order to fit it. Can anyone offer any advice on doing this? Where are the screws located? What clips do I need to be careful I don't break? Am I at risk of having the airbag go off in my face? How long is it going to take?

Any advice much appreciated!

Are you sure you need to take part of the dash off?
As far as i know they're plug and play straight into the wires that normally go into your HU. Certainly was in my PH1 anyway.

Hopefully someone can confirm this.

When i changed the Saab HU, i had to run the wires through the HU opening down to the steering column shroud where the wheel controls were plugged in. It may however be different for Renaults cos the French don't like to do anything that makes sense.
