I agree with Ralph, Graham. Its also a visible sign that your alternator is charging.
You may be able to raise the tickover speed a little and/or check your alternator belt is properly adjusted. Also check all your main battery and earth connections are clean and not corroded.

i would agree with what everyone has said, sounds like your battery is not holding as much charge as when new.
you could get both the battery and altinator checked if it is worrying you.

Its either the alternator or the battery. Before you change anything its best to get them tested at an auto electricians...should only be a few quid...and they should be able to point out which is at fault.
