disconnecting the battery

Hi, I have a megane 1.6 1999 T reg. Just need to know:
if i disconnect the battery will this mess up my immobiliser system - will the car start again! I think it's a radio remote system.
Also, I didn't get the manual when i bought the car (no radio remote code) so if I disconnect the battery the radio probably wont go again either - how will i get the code?
thanks for your help

If your just doing a battery change our local car shop
uses a small clip on battery to keep things powered
wile they do the change so you dont lose the radio
code, the Immobiliser should be ok but it's a Renault
so all you can do is hope for the best. Renault if your
radio is the original one should be able to provide
the code but may charge for it.

Who would design a vehicle that falls over when you stop?
