Clio 1.4RT- Central Locking

I had no problem with the central locking using through key fob until by daughter accidentally opened the door with the same key manually.
The central locking now no longer works and car still remains immobolised and the therefore can't be used.
I have checked all fuses, connectors to the IR sensor and checked that central locking does work with the centre console key(red LED flashes continuously) but refuse to work using remote key fob.
I have already tried key fob programming link given in the forum and it does not work.
Please help! I can't use my car.

Hello,and welcome to the forum.

The first thing to check is do you have a signal from the key?
The transmitter may have been damaged, and although you have a red light illuminated on the key when you press the button it doesn't always mean that it's emitting a signal. Most garages have a tester and it only takes a few seconds to do.I have heard of other ways of doing this by using either a digital camera or a radio aerial, but I can't for the life of me remember the procedure.Maybe someone else could help?.

If you do have a signal, then suspect the roof mounted reciever.I have changed many of these as they can be damaged from water ingress through the aerial. There around £60 from Renault and need to be matched to your key(there should be a paper sticker on it with a sequence of numbers that you have to quote when ordering it).

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
