Megane - wiring rear!!

Hi there,

I have a 2002 Megane Coupe I and am trying to replace the rear lights due to one being broken. I have purchased second-hand lexus lights but unlike the originals the 6 wires have to be wired into the central plug as opposed to being just plugged together.

The plug fitting in the car is numbered 1-6 and the 6 wires from the light fittingn are Black(main wire?), Yellow, Red, Green, Black and White.

If anyone can help....I'd be Very grateful.

Most of the so-called Leus styled lights come with adaptors. As it appears none came with yours it may be easier to source suitable adaptors

You could try Googling for "wiring lexus lights" and see what comes up

Not sure how much help this will be, but these are the colour codes for the Scenic II.

White = Reversing Light
Blue = Tail light
Beige = RH Indicator
Orange = LH Indicator
Brown = Brake Light
Violet = Fog Light
Black = Earth

Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow...

Wanna see what I drive? No pics of the latest Passat, but you can see the Scenic II here and the CB1000R here!

Previous Passat here and Bandit here.

A dead easy way of finding "what wire does what" is to identify which bulb is which in the light cluster that is standard on the car. Then take out the bulb holder and look at the "primitive looking" (for want of a better word!) wiring circuit on the back. the earth is dead easy as it is the wiring track that connects all bulbs together. Then just follow back each bulb to where the pins connect to the wiring on the car and you have identified your wires

Hope this helps
