Laguna2 - switch Xenon headlight to sidelight when engine off?

I noticed that my Laguna2, 11/02 does not switch the Xenon to side light mode when the engine is switched off.

Is there a timer that turns them off automatically or has this been set as function in the cars configuration settings? I've not tested this as I am afraid the Xenon will empty the battery quickly .

I do still have to test the coming home feature, but suspect that this is not fitted on my 02 Initale.

The xenons will not empty the battery !

Xenon headlights use 30000 volts briefly to switch the lights on but then only use around 30 watts when on, unlike normal headlight bulbs which use 55 watts all the time they are on.

A problem well stated is a problem half solved !
