Check Handbrake Warning

Hi My car has just came back from an MOT today which it passed. Yesterday I started getting the "Check Handbrake" warning and anoying beep everytime I use it. it has done this in the past intermitetly but now it does not want to go away. the hand brake itself works fine, it switches on and off when I use the pull switch. Can anyone suggest a reason or a way in which I can stop this thing from warning me every time I use it?

Handbrake Warning

I have the same problem happened after I flattened my battery - Last week I tried resetting all codes using an OBDII lead and software but it didnt work. When the weather get's better I may try disconnecting everthing and cleaning contacts but for now I just ignore the light.

Very reluctant to pay Renault six zillion quid to fix it

Somebody somewhere must have worked out a way of resetting the unit?
