Replace headlamp bulb on 03 Clio

Hi Everyone,

The headlamp bulb in my Clio has gone (driver side, one next to indicator) but I am unsure as to how to replace it. I can see that the rubber bung needs removing but I am not sure how to get the actual bulb out (and space is very tight) - do I pull, twist?. Could anybody point me in the right direction please?

I have had a search through the forums and not found an answer but apologies if this has already been asked a dozen times already.

Shame it's so awkward to replace, on my N reg Clio it took only seconds :-)

Many thanks,

Ben.

Ben, what to do is take of the rubber cap the put ur hand on the plastic connector attatched to the bulb and turn it about 45 degrees until u feel it come lose. Then carefully withdraw it.

Fit the new bulb bearing in mind it only fits one way and then just do the opposite to refit. Push the bulb in them twist until u feel it has caught.

Job done.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. After removing the fuse box cover I had just enough room to get my hand in and twist the connector and remove the bulb.

Hi,

One of my headlights has gone on the drivers side. Is there an easy way of changing it because there are pipes in the way? (air con??)

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Replace headlamp bulb on 03 Clio

OK, I know this is going to sound really dumb, but once you've removed the bulb holder from it's housing, how do you get the bulb out of the holder.

Probably something like push it and twist, but whatever it is, it's got me beat, and I'm not a novice Car DIYer.

Car is an 04 Clio 1.2 16v.
