cd changer problem

hmm, could be many things,Alpine is a trusty brand, most common problem is some people use wrong cartridges for the model,or wrong cables, have you tried putting a cd lens cleaner in to it to clean the laser lens,if it wont load at all that may not be an option, when i first got mine second hand, it wouldnt read the cd, just kept going up and down the cartridge looking for 1 that would play, it was a dirty laser lens. i actually had to dismantle the stacker and clean the laser lens, it was that bad, but thats not a thing i would recomend to the average person, its a bit tricky.make sure the cd player is the right model for the head unit.they need to share the same protocol, ie talk to each other, other thing, i dont suppose you have the head unit set on auxillary by chance, that would isolate the stacker, the stacker wont work if headset is set on auxillary, it needs to be set on cd.
