Christie here from n.ireland this might not be the case i have a renault espace 1999 del when i turn the ign on the air bag waring light come on the dash board followed by the servce light when i took the car to renault they put a nwe ecu unit in cost 500 POUNDS BUT DID NOT FIX THE PROB this is not refunable as it is and electronic part im still got the prob its probley the wiring i know you have a different car check the wiring and fuses first

I think this is pretty much EVERY renault covered - seen as mines a megane and had the same problem. An unbrella under my seat kept knocking the looms - so check them before spending any money

Dont forget a new airbag computer will come electronically locked, so will need to be unlocked and configured using the correct kit.

Yep - just about any car is susceptible to the old loose airbag sensor under the seat. There are not many places in the car where connectors are on a moving item that is susceptible to knocks and bangs

pcpchristie - was this a Renault dealer. If so I'd be ringing Renault Customer Service 'cos they can't really justify charging you £500 NOT to fix the problem!
