Talking Newbie to grand espace help needed

Just picked up a 99 v grand espace 3.0 v6 rxe with 12 months m.o.t 6 months tax for 950 there were a few problems which i was told about and a few which i wasn't
first up the key fob doesn't work the l.e.d very dimly lights up for a second then goes off "new battery maybe"?
i can't lock the doors or the boot if i press the button inside to lock the doors only the passenger side locks,
and when i use the key from the passenger side door nothing happens, i can hear all the solenoids. so basically the car is open all the time, is there a boot release?

the speedo has stopped working everything else on the dash works i think are these problems just a simple case of fuses etc??

the rear lights above the doors don't work and you can't put the electric windows down in the rear but they work from the drivers side front control

then to top it all off ive just came back from shopping and noticed that the passenger side rear wheel is leaking break fluid are these drums on the v6 or discs,? drums i hope as its cheaper to replace a wheel cylinder. can anything else go wrong
shouldn't of said that
anyway good job i found this forum otherwise i would knackered

thanks in advance Steve

Hi Steve,

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you're in for a busy weekend.

Good luck with the repairs I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. Always wanted one of those.

At least you got it for a good price so you've got to expect to sort a few things out.

Good luck

Hi Steve.
I also have a espace 99 t reg the speedo on mine went last year there was a sencor at the back of the engine which an indepndent garage found at fault they could get it to work by pushing down on it hard they found a load of crud in the engine block which they cleaned out fitted new sencor no trouble since my rear door became a pain to open the electronic side worked ok but the handle tended to stick in if some tried to open it before it was unlocked tacking the card off I found there was two small plates one either side where the mechanism was gunged up cleaned it up with wd 40 mixed some oil and copper grease together lubricated every where and kepy working the machanism until really loose working been alright since over twelve months now had simular on one this year for the second time again worked on it the same way first time I could not have done it enough as it stoped working again so really went to town this last time so far ok. the other rear door some one had out before and had cut it open to do there repair and the stuck it back together motor did not appear to be working at all so got a secondhand one from a company one on line had no problems since so far cross fingers
hope this will give you an Idea of what you may have to do happy motoring they are a nice car.
