In praise of Renault

after having my passenger side rear window go (regulator) i rang main dealer (Sunwin, Nottingham) they gave me a price of 370.00 to fit new one, after picking myself up i had a good moan about the price and why after motor not even 4 years old should i be liable for this extortion. after a while the guy gave me the number of Renault UK (freephone).
I rang and spoke to a guy named David Drysdale and he was great!!!
he told me that the main dealer should have contacted them on my behalf as Renault UK have funds set aside for motors that are out of the 3 year warranty but are not over 4 years old.
he apologised on there behalf and told me to get my car booked in and to get the new regulator fitted and that they should then ring him and give them a case number (which he gave me).

got the car in ,new regulator fitted, free of charge and on top of that i got a courtesy call from him to see if all was ok, i thanked him very much indeed.

Just goes to show what ******* the main dealers are when they don't give you this info unless you absolutely push them to the limit.
Well done Renault UK and thank you David Drysdale !!!!!!!!!!

Excellent feed back that all should take note of, with a car less than 4 years old.

Nice one mdv47

And welcome to the forum

My wife's Modus suffered the same fate. Renault have increased the warranty on the regulators to 4 years or 50,000 miles

To be fair to the dealer, I'm guessing that they are a franchise rather than a main dealer. I'm not sure that they get the same info as the Renault owned dealerships

I had a similar situation when my gearbox died with less than a month of the warranty left.
RCS were very pleasant to deal with. After some advice from our very own Otto I approached them in a calm manner. My dealer was a bit of a t0sser too, but RCS sorted them out. They kept in touch after the job was completed to make sure everything was good, and even "gifted" us 100 as an apology for the dealers behaviour.

I think I have CDO. It's like OCD, but with ALL THE LETTERS IN THE RIGHT ORDER
