Fuel Gauge Issue - New Megane CC

I have just filled my fuel tank for only the second time since delivery(2008 Megane CC). On both occasions the dial showed half full(even though the tank was full)when first started after refuelling. However when the car was started for the second time the dial immediately flicked to full and seems to indicate petrol usage normally.
I know there have been reports of issues with fuel gauges but I thought there was a consistency to what happened with mine. Is this an idiosyncracy of the sensor/gauge, or a potential problem.
Thanks for comments.

It could be a faulty / sticking sender unit. Monitor it and if it keeps happening take it back to the dealer as the car is still under the manufacturers warranty no doubt.

Mine shows whatever was in the tank the last time the ignition was switched off and sometimes takes several minutes after filling up and restarting to show the correct amount....
