scenic electric window problem

ive got a problem with my drivers window,it hasn't been working now for a week so was stuck in the up position.
this morning when a got out of the car and locked it the window wound itself smoothly down.
now it's stuck in the down position and i need to get it back up,is there any easy way of doing this?
i've read on this forum that it's a common fault and renault may sort it free of charge, but my car is 5 1/2 years old so i doubt if i'd qualify.
but for now i need to get it back up and possibly remove the fuse so it doesn't come down again.
any advice much appreciated
